This article will be useful for different FireTV devices, including Firestick 4K, FireTV Stick 2nd & 3rd Generation, and even on a FireTV Cube.

If you want to install it on any other devices like Android TV, Android Phones, iOS, Mac, etc, then you probably go and check out any other guide. However, this article will be only useful for the users of the FireTV devices only.

Although before moving towards the installation section read the below guide where you will learn about this app. In case you already know what Peacock TV is and how it works then you can skip this section and directly read the installation guide.

What is Peacock TV?

Peacock TV is a streaming service launched by NBC Universal throughout the nation this summer. It contains thousands of hours of content that can be watched free of cost. This app doesn’t require to have a cable connection or a satellite network.

It can be used throughout the internet and can be used on Web-Browsers, Apps, or through Firestick or Android TVs.

In Peacock TV a user will be able to watch various free content, on-demand videos, movies, and so on. However, the problem is there will be multiple ads, even though it also has a limited number of movies or TV shows that can be accessed.

Talking about premium plans then it has two different tiers the first is basically where a user gets even more TV Shows and unlocks different live channels. But the only problem is that tier also contains some advertisements which are not so annoying as compared to free.

Similarly, the last package is their final tier where you get all content including Hollywood movies and NBC Originals without ads. Other than this you will be able to watch Live Sports, Events, and highlights at anytime you want without restrictions.

Instead of this when we talk about movies then you will be able to watch movies from various famous industries including Lionsgate, Paramount Pictures, Universal Pictures, DreamWorks Animation and many more.

Is Peacock Available on Firestick

NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock TV was released on July 15 this year. It is released for various platforms including Android TVs, Apple TVs, Set-Top Boxes, Consoles and so on.

However, the bad news is that Peacock TV isn’t available for Firestick devices yet. Neither you can download it from App Store on Firestick 4K or on a FireTV Cube.

Although there is still a chance of installing Peacock on a Firestick that is using sideloading of 3rd-party apps. This method is not difficult and will take only a few minutes and after this, we will be able to download and install it in no time.

How To Install Peacock TV On Firestick

Since we understand what is Peacock TV and what it provides I am sure you will be curious about how to install it. If so then don’t worry as we are now going to learn the proper method to get this app on a Firestick device in a few minutes.

As I already told you earlier that the Peacock isn’t available officially for the Amazon FireTV device thus we need to sideload it. So as we know to sideload 3rd-party apps we first need to jailbreak our device and if you haven’t done it yet then just follow this guide.

Once the jailbroken is completed there is still one thing required which is enabling the Unknown Source. It is because by default Amazon has prohibited users from installing apps downloaded from the internet just like Android devices.

Ok, so let’s check out the given below steps to enable Unknown Sources:

  • From Home Screen on Firestick hover to the above menu and then select Settings.
  • After this move to the right side and then click on My FireTV.
  • From My, FireTV scrolls down and then selects Developer Options.
  • Now from developer options you simply need to click on Apps from Unknown Sources.
  • When you click on it a warning message will appear so simply press Enable.

Now the Apps from Unknown Source have been enabled and now we can simply move towards the installation section.

But before that, if you are facing an issue by following the above steps then you can check out Enable Unknown Sources guide explained with screenshots.

Since the Unknown Source is enabled now we need to install an app called Downloader that can be used to sideload apps. This is the best app available that is entirely free to use and offers a built-in browser to surf the internet.

Now let’s follow the given below steps to download Downloader and install Peacock TV on Firestick 4K:

Close all apps if running and then hover to the above menu and select the Search or Magnifying Glass icon.

At this time a virtual keyboard will appear now using this type of Downloader.

It will then show some results below so now select Downloader from there. From the next screen, you will see the list of apps available with your search term and then click on Downloader having an orange background.

After opening it you will then need to click on the Download (You own it) button.

Now, within a few seconds, the app will start downloading and when the download is completed, just click on the Open button to launch it.

When launching it for the first time this app will require some permission so when it asks just click on the Allow button.

After this, it shows a Quick Start Guide just ignore it and dismiss that notification by clicking on the Got it button.

At this time you will see the simple box now hover over it and press the select button to launch the virtual keyboard there.

Now type and then click on the Go button.

It will then take a few seconds to connect the server and then you will notice the app is downloading.

Just wait for a while until the app is downloaded and then the installation window will appear there now just click on the Install button.

This will take a few seconds to install the app and when you see App is installed simply click on the Done button.

At this time you will see the downloader app again having a 3 option window so from here click on the Delete button.

You will then again ask for the confirmation so simply click on the Delete button again.

That’s it the Peacock TV has been installed successfully on our device and we also deleted the backup file to save storage on our device. You can simply launch this app by going to Home Screen and then hovering to Your Apps & Channels and selecting See All.

It will show the list of all apps installed on your device after this scroll down at the bottom and you will notice the Peacock TV icon appears there. Just hover over the icon and then press the select button and this app will be launched on your device.

  • After clicking on it a new window will appear and then type in the path box and Peacock or whatever you want in the name box.
  • When you complete typing the name simply click on the Download Now button.
  • After clicking on Download Now button you will see the app is trying to connect to the server and once it is connected you will notice the app is downloading.
  • Once the app is downloaded now click on the Open File button.
  • From the next screen click on the Install button.
