If you are new at sideloading 3rd-party applications then you probably face an error in which the icon disappears. However, in this article, we are going to talk about how to add Kodi to the Firestick Home screen when the icon is unavailable. This article is not only meant for Kodi but it can be used for 3rd-party installed apps on your device.
It is because I have noticed there are many people out there who can’t find the app after they sideload it. Although I receive a few emails from my visitors who said the app disappear after installation. This is the reason why I thought to make a complete guide on it where I will show you how you can bring the app to the Home Screen on FireTV.
The instructions that I am providing here will work on various devices like Fire Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 2nd, 3rd Generation, FireTV Cube and even on Fire TV Lite (newly released). If you have one of these devices then you probably keep reading this article as those who have a different device can find another guide from Google.
How to Add Kodi To Firestick Home Screen
So, with the latest version of FireOS, Amazon released a feature in which a newly installed app (sideloaded) automatically appears at the end of the app list. Most people are aware of it but still many people out there don’t know about this and that’s why they are asking on the internet about why my Kodi icon disappears from my Home Screen.
Although we still have the icon available instead of appearing in front this is now located at the back. This means if you are willing to launch it you just need to scroll to the bottom and launch it from there. This is really time-consuming task as I didn’t like this option because I used to open Kodi several times a day.
However, there is still a chance for us to Add Kodi to Firestick Home Screen and this is applied to other apps as well. So, if you also want to learn this method then you should probably read this section. To help you understand the step I will also provide you with a screenshot that will be useful for those who don’t know much about this device.
Ok, so let’s follow these steps to add Kodi to Firestick Home Screen:
From Home Screen on your Fire TV device scroll down to Your Apps & Channels and then click on See All (to open all applications). Or alternatively, you can simply press and hold the Home button for a few seconds and select Apps from the next screen.
This will show the list of all installed applications on your device now scroll down at the bottom and hover to the Kodi icon or whatever app you want to show on Home Screen.
Once you highlight the icon of Kodi or another app now from the remote press the Menu button (three horizontal lines) and a menu will appear on the right side below. From that menu, you just need to click on Move to the front and then this will move the icon to Home Screen.
That’s it now just go back to the Home Screen by pressing the Home button on the remote and then you will notice the app appears in the first row.
By following these steps you can move all your 3rd-party installed apps to the front screen to launch it more quickly and save some of your time as well.
How Do I Get Back To The Kodi HomeScreen After Installing a Build
By following the above guide we just move Kodi to Firestick Home Screen but let’s talk about if you have installed a build on Kodi. But now you don’t know how to get back to the Home Screen or use the Stock them of this application. If that’s the case then here you will find complete instructions for this problem.
As we know Kodi Builds are packaged with many best Addons that can be used to watch Movies, TV Shows, Live Channels and so on. But the problem is with the Build you get a custom Skin as well that changes your Home Screen completely and most people don’t know how to use it.
This is the reason why I am writing this guide for those who want to use Build but didn’t like the Skin and want to get back old Kodi Skin. The steps that you get here will be the same on almost all builds as here I am using Diggz Xenon which is listed as the Best Kodi Builds that you should probably gonna check.
Ok, so let’s follow the steps given below to get back to the Kodi Home Screen after installing a build:
- From Kodi build hover to the name of the Build (in my case it is Xenon Plus).
- Now open Kodi Settings from the Sub-Menu.
- After going there just scroll down and select Interface.
- From here stay on Skin and from the right section hover to Xenon Plus (skin name) and press the select button.
- At this time you will see the list of Installed Skin and then hover to Estuary and Select this.
- A confirmation message will appear there so now select Yes.
That’s it now the Home Screen on Kodi is reverted to the original one that is Estuary however the Add-ons are still installed on Kodi. This is the simple way to change Skin on Kodi but if you are willing to download any other ones then I have listed some of the best Kodi Skins that you surely gonna love.
